Christina Schauder

Christina is the founder and head trainer of Country Lane Farm.  She maintains over 35 years of experience in the horse industry with an excellent reputation and high standards.

Christina has an extensive background in hunter/jumpers, as well as dressage and eventing, creating a well-rounded approach to teaching & riding.

She established Country Lane in 1989 with her husband Fred in Greenwich, CT and they have 3 girls (Emma, Lindsay, and Avery) all of whom ride.

She has coached countless children to great success in the local and "AA" show circuits.  Her students have won at all major competitions including Devon, Lake Placid, Vermont, CHJA Finals, The Hampton Classic, and the New England Equitation Finals.

Christina is also a USEF 'r' licenced judge and a member of both the Professional Horseman's Association & Greenwich Riding Trails Association.

Emma Schauder

Emma is a young professional with a love of horses and teaching young minds.  She is the assistant trainer and show rider at Country Lane.  Her specialties include training green horses, showing in Hunter Derbies, and schooling client horses!

Emma had an incredibly successful Big Eq career - accumulating a top 20 finish in every major final.  She was the winner of the PHA, FW-PHA, and CHJA Master’s Medal Finals.  Emma was also the back-to-back reserve champion of New England Adult Medal Finals.
Emma's true love lies in the hunters - she has placed in almost every single hunter derby she has ever entered!
Emma graduated The University of Georgia in 2017 Summa Cum Laude.  There, she competed on the Division 1 Equestrian team that acquired a National Championship and 2 SEC Championships.  She can offer help and advice to your child with any recruitment needs for college!

Fred Schauder

Fred is the co-owner of Country Lane Farm.  He has a well-rounded knowledge of horse care and professional training.  His specialty is the jumper ring! He also keeps the farm in pristine condition through hard work and attention to detail.

Fred played polo throughout his youth and was the head coach of the Yale University polo team.

Additionally, Fred has served as the President of the Fairfield Westchester chapter of the Professional Horseman's Association - an organization dedicated to helping fellow professionals in our area!

Pedro Tinajero

Pedro has worked at Country Lane for over 18 years and is an integral part of our team.  His barn management skills are amazing, but it is really his attention to detail that makes Pedro one of the most valuable assets to Country Lane.  He watches over turn-outs very carefully and never cuts corners with his equine care.  Pedro treats all of the horses like his own and is dedicated to keeping them in tip-top shape at all times.

Sam Silver

Sam is one of the best assistant riders and trainers you could ask for! She is kind-hearted and great with children & horses alike.  She has been with Country Lane for over 4 years now and her specialty is schooling our ponies! Fun-fact: she helped break & train our 2 Chincoteague ponies (Sugar & Spice) and they are her absolute favorites.  Sam began riding at 7y/o and continued for high school at The Ethel Walker School as well as riding for a year on the SCAD intercollegiate team in college.  She has experience with hunters, jumpers, and even fox hunting for fun! Her love of all-things horses is infectious and her positive attitude makes everyone feel welcome at the barn.
